Neuguard's CE/UKCA Marking Services

We have the capability of providing turnkey CE/UKCA marking services and can act as an authorised representative for your business within the United Kingdom.

UKCA Marking

UKCA marking is the legal requirement for placing machinery on the market in Great Britain following Brexit.

It replaces CE marking for machinery supplied into England, Scotland, and Wales and confirms compliance with UK product safety legislation, primarily the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, which are closely aligned with the former EU Machinery Directive.

UKCA marking is not optional. Manufacturers must be able to demonstrate that machinery meets the essential health and safety requirements, is supported by appropriate technical documentation, and is accompanied by a valid UKCA Declaration of Conformity.

In practical terms, UKCA compliance requires:

• A structured risk assessment against UK legislation
• Evidence-based safety measures and protective systems
• Complete and defensible technical documentation
• Correct UKCA marking and declarations
• Ongoing cooperation with the Health and Safety Executive

Failure to comply can result in enforcement action, restricted sales, product withdrawal, and reputational damage.

UKCA marking applies only to Great Britain. Machinery placed on the Northern Ireland market remains subject to separate requirements under the Northern Ireland Protocol.

CE Marking

CE marking is the legal gateway to placing machinery on the European market.

It demonstrates that machinery complies with the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), allowing it to be sold and used across the European Economic Area without additional regulatory barriers.

CE marking is fundamentally about risk reduction and legal compliance. It requires manufacturers to identify hazards, apply appropriate protective measures, and evidence conformity through robust technical documentation. Failure to comply can result in enforcement action, restricted market access, or product withdrawal.

CE marking enables:

• Safer machinery for operators and maintenance personnel
• Free movement of goods across the EEA
• Legal access to European markets
• Increased buyer confidence and reduced liability exposure

CE marking is a legal requirement. It does not certify performance and it is not a mark of quality. But it does confirm that minimum safety and compliance obligations have been met.

How do we work?

Our CE/UKCA marking services start with a technical file review where we will either identify the required documents to be stored in the technical file  or review any existing technical file information provided and perform a gap analysis.

Following a gap analysis, Neuguard will provide a PDF report on the current technical file status and if requested, can provide a quote to complete the technical file or parts of it as required by the manufacturer.

Neuguard and its partners have the capability of providing turn-key CE/UKCA marking services. Neuguard can also offer authorised representative services for your business if you are based outside of the UK.
